Research summary
Myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs), a group of rare blood cancers, often have high symptom burden which leads to a reduced overall quality of life (QoL). The causes of MPNs remain to be identified but occupational exposure to chemicals has been suggested. This study builds on a successful pilot study aiming to identify risk factors associated with MPNs; assess QoL and establish a case frequency matched molecular biobank for future studies of gene/environment interactions.
