Research summary
This is a retrospective observational study, assessing the risk of developing COVID19-related malnutrition and observing the medical management of these patients at an acute hospital in North London. The study will observe standard ward-based care provided by doctors and the ward dietitians. All data collected for this study will be based on the recommendations of the ward dietitian, available in online clinical noting within the Trust's online system and the clinical journey of patients based on the discharge summary. Blood results are available online through the hospitals system: Medway.
This research study does not require participants doing any study-related activities and it will only record how the doctors and dietitian on the wards treated these COVID19 patients, to identify the impact of the virus on these patients' food intake, weight loss and how intensively they were medically treated.
