Research summary
The purpose of the LUNGEVITY study is to collect a large number of cough and phonation recordings from COVID-19 patients, suspected COVID-19 patients, controls with other respiratory conditions, and healthy controls. The recordings will form the basis of a database.
Participants will be recruited both from hospitals and screening centres and from the general public. Participants will be consented electronically. The data from participants will be collected through an online application developed by the sponsor. Participants will be asked a series of questions about their health-related parameters and health status, specifically if they have tested positive or negative with COVID-19. Participants will be asked to record and submit voice samples, specifically a number of coughs and sustained phonations.
The coughs and phonations will be analysed to identify patterns that uniquely profile COVID-19 patients, forming the basis for a tool for mass screening.
