  • Research summary

This study aims to evaluate the accuracy of a surgical technique. In patients with arthritis of the knee, partial knee replacements can be performed. However, there are concerns in the published literature that the accuracy of the implantation of such devices may be compromised and potentially lead to early failure of the joint replacement. The new device uses MRI scans to produce patient specific instrumentation (PSI) to help with the alignment and sizing of the implant to try and erradicate potential errors. We wish to evaluate the accuracy of the PSI system compared to the computer predictions when this type of joint replacement has been used
