  Tissue and cells removed as part of surgical interventions and excess to diagnostic requirements will be collected and stored. Appropriate patients undergoing these operations will be identified by their clinical teams and agreement for contact obtained before the Brain Bank team take consent.

  The Brain Bank supports a broad range of basic neuroscience research alongside studies in neurodegeneration, psychiatric disease, epilepsy, brain tumours and head injury. This is both within the UK and worldwide.
