Research summary
We would like to link the data of children who have already participated in both a dental survey and a research project. Born in Bradford(07/H1302/112) is a prospective birth cohort (a birth cohort is a group of people who are followed up from birth and have measurements taken at different points in their lives). The second data set is the NHS Dental Epidemiological Oral Health Survey of 5-year-olds in England. This dental survey takes place in each participating local authority area and follows a national Department of Health protocol. For children who have participated in both of these in Bradford, we will investigate the impact of early life factors (such as birth weight, birth length, duration of pregnancy, parent's age and background) on children's oral health status.
