Research summary
This is a pilot study to investigate the relationship between wound healing in patients with Critical Limb Threatening Ischaemia (CLTI) and micronutrient status. It is felt that poor nutritional status can prolong healing time which exposures patients to greater risk of not healing their wounds and eventually ending up with a major amputation. We aim to interrogate this relationship by taking one blood sample from a participant population and measuring the micronutrient levels in it. We will then monitor the patients wound healing and analyse the data to see if there is any relationship between the two.
