    Irritable bowel syndrome is a common condition, causing abdominal pain, bloating and altered bowel habits. This study is exploring a marketed food supplement JUVIA which contains a high concentration of enzymes that digest carbohydrates which might improve symptoms of IBS. It is sweet substance which is a by-product of the malting process used in brewing, this enzyme rich malt extract has been used for many years in baking and cookery. Participants will be asked to take two tablespoons each day for 4 weeks and complete a number of questionniares and provide samples for biochemical analysis.
