    MEMOSA: Multi-Ethnic Molecular determinants of SArcopenia (MEMOSA) multi-centre collaborative study between EpiGen and the Nestle Institute for Health Science (NIHS), we used high coverage RNA sequencing on human skeletal muscle biopsies to analyze genome-wide transcriptional changes in in older men with sarcopenia contrasted with age-matched healthy controls. Muscle transcriptomic profiles from individuals in the Singapore Sarcopenia Study (SSS), Hertfordshire Sarcopenia Study (HSS) United Kingdom (UK) and Jamaica Sarcopenia Study (JSS) cohorts NB this REC application is to allow UoS to conduct lab work on the Jamaican samples.

    This part of the MEMOSA study is combining samples from the Jamaican and Hertfordshire studies which had spate in country REC approval. The University has REC approval for the Hertfordshire cohort but not to process samples from Jamaica. Therefore this application is concerned with the storing and processing of Jamaican tissue samples only.
