Research summary
Physical attendance at outpatient clinics put patients at risk of spreading COVID-19. Virtual Consultations (VC) are an important way for patients to access their care without this risk. There has been a surge in the interest for VC in response to COVID-19, with the National Health Service in the United Kingdom releasing new Information Governance guidance for their use\n. \nThere are examples of remote consultations being used in clinical practice in response to COVID-19 7. Anecdotally, the use of VC has been widespread across trauma and orthopaedics. Again, anecdotally, there have been some identified issues with regarding to governance, safety and professional indemnity insurance.\n\nThe purpose of this research is to gain a broad understanding of the issues that clinicians working in trauma and orthopaedics face when using VC. This survey will be disseminated across a range of networks in order to capture as wide a range of responses as possible.\n
