Research summary
Wound irrigation or weshing is common practice. Topical Negative Pressure (TNP) dressings are commonly applied to traumatic wounds. This trial aims to determine whether combining irrigation with TNP dressings will allow earlier wound closure ofr contaminated wounds, and whether there is any differnce when irrigating with a soapy antimicroabial solution (Prontosan) rather than normal saline.
