Research summary
When patients have a build up of fluid in the space between the lung and the chest wall they often have many procedures to try and make a diagnosis and improve their symptoms. New research has shown that what we are doing currently might be able to be improved by a more personalised approach but further work is needed to make sure this is the case. We will look at information such as the results of the laboratory tests on the fluid and some of the x-rays and scans along with what happens to the patients after these tests.
