Research summary
Prostate cancer is one of the most common solid organ cancer seen in the aging population, it affects 1 in 6 men in their lifetime. It is still fairly unclear how and why these cancers occur and current treatment options are limited and can result in cancers recurring.
In this study we will investigate cancer biology and aging with in the prostate from pre-malignancy through to metastasis. This will improve our understanding of how and why these cancers occur. The findings from this study will impact on future cancer treatments in time leading to more targeted/personalised therapies.
We will use several different analyses to look at the molecular events that accumulate in cells including tissue stem cells that drive aging and/or cancer.REC name
