  • Research summary

    Study Summary:
Orthopantomograms (OPGs) are normally taken as part of orthodontic examination to confirm the presence, position, and morphology of teeth (BOS (British Orthodontic Society) Guidelines). At present, there is not any valid evidence to suggest a systematic approach that could be used when interpreting these radiographs.

Eye-tracking is the process of measuring either the point of gaze or the motion of an eye relative to the head.

Studying eye tracking movement whilst interpreting OPGs taken as part of orthodontic treatment will help us identify how clinicians interpret radiographs. This can be analysed to see how individuals vary and may be used to develop a consistent and reproducible method for teaching/training purposes.
