Research summary
This study would address an important issue within physiotherapy practice; whether different durations of initial assessment affect low back pain patients’ outcomes and/or satisfaction. It would therefore produce original data that would directly impact service design within NHS Scotland. The results of a related qualitative study had informed the need for and design of this study, and it had been developed by the project team with input from physiotherapy service leads throughout Scotland. It had therefore been designed to answer a real clinical issue and would be of value to NHS Scotland as it redesigned MSK services.
