Research summary
Osteoporosis is a common disease in the elderly, and the fractures that result from this disorder affect 40% of women and 14% of men over the age of fifty. This study was designed to test if it is possible to accelerate the healing of these fractures at the areas of the hip or around the knee with the systemic administration of therapeutic agents (tablets or injections), and if by doing so pain and functional impairment will be reduced.
