  • Research summary

Talent Management is a system of optimising staffing processes that has been used successfully within the private sector for many years, but has not been applied to public sector agencies. The aim of this research is to gain an understanding of how NHS policy is followed in recruiting, selecting and retaining NHS staff from the perspective of HR staff within the NHS and also those who work within it. From this, I hope to gather information to generate a model, to see if talent management theory could theoretically be used to help NHS HR teams improve the quality of service delivery by selecting and deploying talented staff effectively, without a need to increase staffing numbers.
