  • Data collection arrangements

    This application seeks approval for research activities related to routinely collected clinical data from the IMPARTS (Integrating Mental and Physical healthcare: Research Training and Services) programme. These research activities include:

    1) analysis of data for research purposes via the IMPARTS Research Database;
    2) recruitment to the IMPARTS Consent for Contact Case Register.

  • Research programme

    By collecting mental and physical health outcomes routinely, IMPARTS provides a unique opportunity to pioneer research at the mental/physical interface. The database allows researchers to investigate psychological and biological factors that influence and predict patient outcomes in day-to-day practice, thereby informing improvements to clinical services. It provides an important resource for better understanding common mental disorder in physical illness; including risk factors, trajectories and pathways through care. The overall purpose of the consent to content register is to provide a mechanism whereby patients have the opportunity to participate in research projects relevant to them, and whereby researchers are able to identify and approach potentially eligible research participants who are willing to be contacted.
