Research summary
On 23 April the Chief Medical Officers confirmed that patients receiving renal dialysis have been added to the list of conditions that indicate someone is clinically extremely vulnerable to coronavirus, meaning they cannot go out for daily exercise, must have provisions brought to their door and need to isolate from people in their own house.\n\nThrough the proposed study, we would like to capture patient’s experience during this unique and unprecedented time, in order to guide practice moving forwards and identify potential areas for intervention. More specifically, the purpose of this study is to understand the impact of COVID-19 restrictions on the wellbeing, quality of life and physical activity of people with end-stage renal disease, currently dialysing in-centre versus at home in the UK and their experience of telemedicine. This information may be used to help us better support individuals in the future and investigate the feasibility of telemedicine in routine clinical practice. [Study relying on COPI notice]
