Research summary
This study aims to determine whether an association between the immunohistochemical expression of three markers; P53, CD15 and CD10, can be used to predict the status of certain clinicopathological characteristics of colorectal tumours including lymph node metastasis, extramural vascular invasion and tumour stage. This will be performed retrospectively using the diagnostic biopsies. The clinicopathologic characteristics can be obtained from the histopathology reports of the resection. If an association is seen it will provide evidence for the use of immunohistochemical profiles in the pre-operative prognostic assessment of colorectal adenocarcinoma.
