Research summary
Using lymphocytes (white blood cells) obtained from routine blood donations, surplus to clinical requirements, Apitope wishes to better understand the immune responses of T cells towards selected auto-antigens and peptides developed for the treatment of auto-immune diseases . This can be performed by studying lymphocyte behaviour in-vitro. Laboratory studies involving patient-derived lymphocytes obtained from routine blood donations have the potential to greatly support the translation of innovative therapies from the research bench into future clinical trials.
