  • Research summary

Patients with radiotherapy to the neck are increased risk of failed tracheal intubation or mask ventilation when anaesthesia is administered. We wish to study the effectiveness of a device called the IGEL, in consecutive, elective patients undergoing general anaesthesia recruited from our hospital. The IGEL device is commonly used in clinical practice but its specific effectiveness in our patient group has not been studied previously.
