Data collection arrangements
Routine data are collected during routine care and NHS staff at Imperial College Health NHS Trust transform and de-identify these data and store it in our secure NHS based data platform called iCARE. Researchers can apply to access these data, if projects are approved, access the data in the NHS platform meaning it does not leave the NHS. All access to the data is audited and controlled within the NHS.
Research programme
iCARE supports clinical analytics, research and Evaluation projects that set out to improve safety, effectiveness and experience of care provided in the NHS. all applications are reviewed in detail by a committee of clinicians, data experts, research experts, and members of the public. Applications are only approved if they are in the public interest and we insist that this is specified in lay terms for all projects. We publish all approved applications and research outputs on our website https://imperialbrc.nihr.ac.uk/facilities/icare/
