Research summary
Hypoplastic Left Heart syndrome (HLHS) is characterised by a small left heart that is not able to support the systemic (body) circulation. If untreated, the condition is universally fatal, however, recent advances in surgical techniques have meant that patients with this condition are now reaching adulthood. Little is known of the welfare or clinical status of these patients as they enter adulthood. We aim to describe the clinical status of these patients through a notes review. We will also review their paediatric history in an attempt to define predictors of poor outcomes in these adult patients.
