Research summary
The proposed research will use a qualitative method to analyse data from interviews with men with mild to moderate depression. The interviews will be semi-structured, meaning that some of the questions are pre-planned but it offers the opportunity to ask participants follow-up questions when material is considered to be significant or relevant.
Eligible participants are adult males with mild to moderate depression that have not accessed mental health services before and have been offered group cognitive behavioural therapy.
The research aims to explore males' experience of accessing help-seeking in a group setting to uncover potential obstacles, challenges and opportunities that males encounter.
