  • Research summary

High definition silicone (HDS) is the material used to create life-like cosmetic covers for digits, partial hand and foot amputations, and prosthetic limb covers. The authors will focus on its indications for digits and partial hand and foot prostheses, as its use as limb covers relates to its own unique indications and limitations.
The authors plan to investigate the psycho-social and functional effects of wearing HDS prostheses, as compared to other products more commonly prescribed via the National Health Service.
