Research summary
To study aims to understand the experiences of health services for those living with dementia, from Asian ethnic minority groups in Hounslow. We will invite Asian patients alongside a member of staff, family or carer, living in Hounslow who have been diagnosed with Dementia to explore their experiences through semi-structured interviews of the diagnosis and treatment journey and any inequalities in current or previous use of cultural or creative activities and resources to support their health and wellbeing e.g., via social prescribing. We will also invite carers (who are not professional carers or health care professionals) to talk about their own experience as a carer (and not on behalf of the patient). Participants will be asked to discuss:
• Experiences of health services including use of social prescribing,
• Information needs during diagnosis, treatment (inc. social prescribing) and
follow-up.• Any access needs and inequalities in current or previous use of programmes in
arts/heritage and cultural or creative activities resources e.g., via social
prescribing, to support their health and wellbeing.REC name
