  • Data collection arrangements

This tissue bank contains blood and tissue samples originally collected as part of the ProtecT study. The ProtecT study originally collected these samples to investigate prostate cancer. The HeLPP study has gained consent to use these samples for research into other illnesses and diseases.
Some of these blood samples have also been analysed for DNA, where there was additional consent to do so from participants.

  • Research programme

Bona fide researchers will be able to apply to use the samples held in this tissue bank, to investigate links between properties in blood and tissue, and illness or diseases, other than prostate cancer (this is covered by the ProtecT study).
