Research summary
This research aims to evaluate the 0-5 Public Health Investment in England - with a focus on Health Visiting Services. This is a mixed methods study using qualitative methods and substantial stakeholder input to explain and draw meaning from quantitative analyses, allowing interpretation of findings in the context of local policy, practice and circumstance.
This application is for the qualitative case study element of the wider project. The qualitative case studies will explore how Health Visiting (HV) works in context, with interviews, observation and documentary analysis in each case study site. We will work with up to four locations nationally to identify two HV teams from each to form the case studies. In each case study we will look for both the parents' and the Health Visitor perspectives to create a detailed understanding of the service, which can then be synthesised with other, quantitative elements from the wider project.
