Research summary
This is an Observational, retrospective, multi-center, records review registry of routine clinical practice.
This study will simply involve the collection of routine retrospective data on patients who have been treated with the impella devices. Impellas are catheter based ventricular assist devices, which provide circulatory assitance in for example high risk angioplasty.
The purpose of the impella device is to maintain blood flow through the body during angioplasty. It works by pumping blood throughout the body when the heart is too weak to do it itself.
The purpose of this registry is to capture data that reflect ''real- world'' use of impella devices in clinical practice and provide insight into patient characteristics, comorbid conditions, patterns of care, quality of care and performance measurements to provide insight into use of the devices and clinical outcomes.
