Research summary
The proposed study will be a qualitative ethnographic study of clinicians undertaking normal clinical practice. The study will involve observation and interview of Physiotherapy clinicians in clinical practice within the NHS. This will take place in an out-patient musculoskeletal setting on a day a week basis for the duration of the study. The clinicians will be observed undertaking Physiotherapy consultations via video mediums (NearMe). Patients will be observed within the video consultations (remote), but are not direct participants of the study. In addition, students on placement at the research site may also be observed whilst they are working with their respective practice educator (clinician within the research). The study aims to explore the potential gains and losses of Remote Physiotherapy through a qualitative study design, a focused ethnography.
