Research summary
Abnormalities of vital signs are quantified by comparison with 'normal' ranges from a healthy resting population. However, it may be more appropriate to compare the vital signs of an unwell individual with their own usual values recorded when they were stable and well. Wearable sensors might make this possible at scale, and an increasing proportion of the population is utilising wearable technology. This study aims to assess the feasibility of using patient-held data from wearables and smart devices, and assessing trends in this data to assess disease severity.
