  • Research summary

There are a number of assessments available to diagnose and monitor patients with asthma. Some require patient effort and some do not. One assessment that does not require patient effort sends sound waves into the lungs via the mouth and monitors the signal that comes back. It is unclear how much of an influence a change in breathing pattern has on these signals and whether this would impact interpretation of the results. We, therefore, we wish to investigate how much of an impact changing breathing patterns in patients with asthma has on the results.
