  • Research summary

Local database (Bath and North Bristol) of faecal immunochemitry tests (FITs) identifies patients with iron deficiency and a FIT. Further details will be obtained from the electronic record of patients e.g. extended iron studies, full blood count and colonoscopy results, as well as basic past medical history. The information will be used to determine whether a negative FIT test predicts a negative colonoscopy in iron deficiency with and without anaemia.
