Research summary
MRI of the unborn baby is becoming part of clinical practice and in Sheffield all babies with a suspected Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH) will be referred for a fetal MRI. In this study we would like to do this at 3T (new in the UK but it has been done for several years in Europe and we currently image the fetal brain on our 3T scanner) and we would like to use the images and the image data for additional post acquisition processing to develop new ways of obtaining accurate data to help predict the outcome in babies with CDH. We will also need to collect the outcome information and any operation details from the hospital notes after the baby is born. We do not need to contact the parents for this information but would like their permission to get this from the notes.
