Research summary
The purpose of this study is to isolate bacteria and other microorganisms that are normally present in the gut microbiome of healthy people. In addition, this study may help in identifying the nature and quantity of microorganisms present in the gut microbiome of healthy people. Any microorganisms isolated from stool samples in this study may be used as source material for new therapeutics and probiotics (e.g., food additives). In addition, the isolated microorganisms or the information obtained from the stool samples may be used for the discovery and commercialisation of new therapies including, but not limited to: small molecules, combinations of microorganisms, and probiotics (e.g., food additives).
