Research summary
Medication safety is an international priority with prescribing errors a particular concern. Prescribing errors are common in hospital settings with doctors reporting a lack of feedback on their prescribing. Whilst feedback is recommended to support junior doctors and has been shown to improve prescribing outcomes in recent times, uptake of feedback as a routine intervention to support prescribing has not occurred. Understanding the barriers and enablers of safe prescribing feedback will be important to highlight these issues and inform future service design and delivery.
