Research summary
People with interstitial lung disease have a limited life expectancy and a high burden of symptoms. Despite this there is limited research into methods of improving their access to symptom control and end of life care. This project will seek the views of patients and their carers to find out their issues and discuss ways of over coming them. We will conduct focus groups or semi-structured interviews then analyse the results using qualitative analysis before publishing our findings. We hope this information will permit the development of an intervention to improve palliative care for interstitial lung disease.
