Research summary
This study aims to investigate the levels of anxiety, depression and general negative affect (NA) in a population of adults with Intestinal Failure who receive life-sustaining treatment in the form of Home Parenteral Nutrition (HPN). It further aims to explore any relationship with levels of NA and other factors, such as, length of time on treatment, primary diagnosis and perceived Social Support. Findings from this study will add to the knowledge base for this group of patients in terms of the impact of their health upon their psychological well-being, helping to highlight the needs of this population.
