Research summary
A qualitative exploration of the experiences of offenders with learning disabilities of a specialist Forensic Learning Disabilities Service, based in NHS Grampian.
This study shall use semi-structured interviews in order to explore the experiences of offenders, identify the meaning attributed to these experiences, and also to identify the commonalities and differences emerging from these experiences. It is hoped that information obtained relating to these experiences will be useful in guiding both clinical practice and enhancing our understanding of the experiences of these service users. This could then increase levels of engagement and strengthen therapeutic relationships with service users.
