  • Research summary

The enhanced recovery pathway or fast track surgery has been introduced in several maternity units in the United Kingdom for women undergoing an elective caesarean section. The pathway is designed to improve the client's recovery with the advantage of them having a reduced length of stay in hospital without having a negative effect on the client's safety or experience. This aim of this study is to investigate what are the views and experiences of the women and their partners who have completed this pathway.
