The intent of the proposed study is to learn about the experiences of patients with a diagnosis of psychosis from different ethnic backgrounds who have now attained recovery. The focus will be on selected patients through purposive sampling. We seek to answer questions such as: What impact has being a patient had upon their lives, and upon their interactions with friends and family in and out of hospital? How have their relationships with family and friends affected them access mental health services? What support do they have from their family and friends? What experiences have they had in the context of their ethnic backgrounds on their way to recovery? This study will use a qualitative design.
