Research summary
There is minimal evidence which addresses how parents identify, manage and experience grommet insertion for glue ear. It is suggested that parents' perceived outcomes of surgical insertion of grommets are different to those of health professionals. This study aims to explore parents experiences of their child having grommet insertion and their perceptions of the changes to their child after surgery. Semi-structured interviews will be conducted with 30 parents.
