Research summary
This will be a qualitative study based in UK Parent-Infant Mental Health services. Primary data will be collected through semi-structured, one-to-one interviews with parents who have undergone the 'Circle of Security Parenting Programme' (COSP).
The study aims to explore the views of parents who have experienced COSP, around the usefulness of the intervention and factors which may impact this; any concepts they found difficult; their reflections on how their upbringing may have had an impact; how their culture may have influenced their view of it; and any ideas for improving the delivery of COSP.
Findings may inform training frameworks for staff within PIMHS by highlighting which considerations or adaptations to COSP could be most helpful and may guide services in their decision-making around how COSP is implemented. This research could also raise important questions for future research in parent-infant attachment interventions.
Interviews will take place up to 12 months post intervention, remotely via the MS Teams platform and will last up to 1 hour.REC name
