Research summary
The Research will evaluate a Scottish Government funded program that partnered NHS Highland, Highland Council, and Argyll and Bute Council, to deliver the expansion of asymptomatic Lateral Flow Device (LFD).
The regional authorities, navigating different geographies, have taken different approaches to the delivery of their LFD programs. This context offers the advantage of being able to identify the strengths of each approach, as part of a bigger project to evaluate regional provision in the localities. The evaluation proposed in this application will add to this evaluation by studying the LFD programme within the Highland region and offers the opportunity to learn lessons specific to areas with sparse, widely distributed populations with a mixture of urban areas, rural and suburban and island areas, with numerous logistical challenges. This will help with future redesign of the programme.
An effective evaluation of the program requires input from a range of stakeholders. A wide range of perspectives, interests, and engagement experiences of the program will be sought. This will be through telephone conversations with 3 key groups: the strategic team responsible for designing the local mobile testing programs, the operational staff directly involved in the delivery of testing, and members of the public who used the test sites.
The study will last 14weeks, funded by the public health department at NHS Highland.REC name
