Research summary
Pelvic floor muscle training is the first line therapy recommended by NICE for the treatment of stress urinary incontinence. The training of these muscles is difficult particularly when women have trouble in the perception of their pelvic floor muscle. Poor motivation and compliance results in only 15-20% of women complying in the long-term. We are currently using the Galileo vibrating plate machine which uses whole body vibration to assist women with their pelvic floor exercise. We aim to assess patient acceptability to the Galileo machine via a qualitative interview using grounded theory.
