Data collection arrangements
Tissue and derived stem cell lines will be stored in the REPROCELL Europe Ltd Stem Cell Bank, based within REPROCELL Europe premises located in The West of Scotland Science Park, Glasgow. Relevant clinical data relating to each donor will also be collected and securely stored within the stem cell bank. Only REPROCELL staff will have access to collected data. All donated samples and data will be coded with a unique identifier that can only be decoded by the donor tissue collection site.
Potential donors will be identified and approached by ethically approved tissue collection sites and using NHS databases and hospital patient record systems. The donor will be given a Participant Information Sheet describing the nature of the bank, what is involved in terms of donation, and the potential research
uses of the collected sample. If the donor consents, a sample will be taken and transferred to REPROCELL, processed and stored within the REPROCELL Stem Cell Bank.Research programme
The REPROCELL Stem Cell Bank will support a large research community both within the academic and pharmaceutical sectors. The primary research aim is to establish a bank of stem cell lines to investigate the biological mechanisms, efficacy and safety of new drugs and treatments. As such, the main research programmes will include (but are not limited to) disease modelling and mechanism studies, gene editing, drug development and discovery, early stage cellular therapy studies, toxicology screening and stem cell technology development.
