Research summary
The aim of the study to to determine whether teaching the use of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT or ’tapping’) to people with chronic pain will reduce their pain levels and allow them to decrease their pain medications. EFT is a well established technique combining self applied acupressure tapping with talking therapy and many people use it for pain management but there is no published evidence for its effectiveness for chronic pain. The technique will be taught in six weekly sessions lasting two hours each.
