Research summary
To evaluate the benefit of using heated humidified carbon dioxide for day case laparoscopic gynaecology operations. Theoretical benefits of reduced post operative pain, reduced shoulder tip pain and analgesic requirements exist with humidified heated carbon dioxide gas use. This study is designed to assess if benefit truly exists and hence whether it should be used in all cases.
