Research summary
The goal of this study is to gather information on new hearing aid users’ experiences with background sounds. The qualitative data will be transcripts of discussions relating to the sounds new HA users find unpleasant, and why they find them so. The transcripts will be subjected to thematic analysis to determine the underlying common elements in the user’s experiences which will lead to a greater understanding of role of everyday background sounds in new users’ dissatisfaction with hearing aids.
